Mazunte

The highest point in Pacific. This beautiful place is located one hour and fifteen minutes away, in this cliff you can feel the immensity of nature and with a little luck, you will be able to watch whales.

Mazunte is a sea turtle reserve, watch the arrival of thousands of them and the birth of a new generation. Also, don’t forget to rent a surfboard.

Copalita

Just forty minutes from Bahía San Agustín, you could find this eco-archaeological park, the ruins and vestiges where the Zapotecas established part of their empire.
A good hiking destination and just a few steps away from the sea.

Playa La india

Fishing

wildlife contemplation

The Pacific coast is home for an impressive number of species: dolphins, manta rays, corals, reefs, birds, even sea lions and a great variety of fishes with amazing colors. Huatulco is also the third place for whale watching in Mexico, between December and May you can admire them in their natural environment. In addition, 10 of the 11 species of sea turtles arrives at our country, in Oaxacan coast we could see them arrive, spawn and start their way back to the sea.

COPALITILLA’s waterfalls

Because not everything is sea and beach, just over an hour ago, from Bahía San Agustín these waterfalls are situaded. On this excursion you can rappel down the canyon, enjoy its rapids and take a good dip in the river. Huatulco has adventure for everyone.

Botanic Garden «Hagia Sofia»

This garden is located an hour and ten minutes away from the bay, with more than one hundred thousand plants and eighty species of exotic fruit trees, “Hagia Sofia” is a natural jewel that offers harmonies of sixty types of birds and an interaction with more of three hundred species of butterflies.

Puerto Ángel

This fishing village is located 30 km away from Bahía San Agustín, it has two main beaches connected by a stone bridge; Playa Principal has a pier with heavy traffic where you can board a boat to go fishing your own lobster or a fresh octopus. Playa Panteón is ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
It has variety of restaurants and many of them are really affordable.

Zipolite

The most famous nudist beach in Mexico is only an hour and a half from our bay.
Perfect waves, friendly people and a bohemian aura. Its festival takes place in the last days of January.

Rules in Zipolite are clear, in town and transport you must always be dressed, only one of the beaches is nudist, but if you do not feel safe to take off your clothes, it is not mandatory to walk without them. You will find families and children, although most of the tourists are couples and groups of young people living a different experience in total respect for their body and space.
Don’t forget to bring at least one towel!

Huatulco

Of course, we must also talk about our beautiful city. Conejos, Tangolunda, Chahué, Santa Cruz, Maguey y Órgano, Cacaluta, Chachacual, Riscalillo and San Agustín are the 9 bays that comprise this tourist city. With 36 beaches, you will surely find the one that is perfect for you; surfing, kayaking, nature observation, nightlife, deserted areas, developed areas, Huatulco has something for everyone. You’re going to love it!

Laguna de Manialtepec

A little less than two hours from the bay is this magical place. Bioluminescence is caused by millions of microorganisms that, when colliding with each other, flash light. This natural phenomenon is most visible between the months of March and December, to has a better experience, it is necessary to avoid moonlight.
Swimming among them is completely safe, take your camera and enjoy this beautiful spectacle of nature.
